about Jack:

In the mid-eighties (of last century) in Chicago, the city where the House
is born, word 'Jack' was used to describe the way of dancing to 'house music'.'Jack' was one from many forms of urban 'black dance' ( similar to 'black music'), just like swing, boogie-woogie or breakdancing, but with
some special moments.
'to Jack' means to dance frantically, the point is to lose complete mental control and give all of you to the music. When you are 'lost in groove' in the way like this, then dances not only your body, but also your mind and soul.
If thinking about it in serious way, then 'Jacking' as a trance-dance is something like collective meditation in motion.
At the time being, house music have partly lost this special feelin' and
Jack-Your-Body flavor, but we are on the way to bring it back... it's time to Jack again!

about Tape Art:
House music arrived in Latvia in 1987, thanks to legendary DJ Westbam,
who have visited Riga.
After this groundbreaking experience many latvian DJ's started to do mixing and scratching, but unlike their western colleagues, instead of turntables they used tape recorders ( not cassette decks ). unbelievable, but it was possible to build in those 'made in U.S.S.R' tape recorders speed pitches and some more additional things, and to do on them all the 'tricks', that "normal" DJ's are doing with proffesional turntables and records.
Now, more than 10 years after, we will show what the
Tape Art is.
