01. [lecture] NET.RADIO: LIVE STREAMING * live streaming possibilities on the net In 1997 more and more net.radio stations and live net.audio projects emerged in the internet - the huge variety of all those projects was apparent. Different models of 'how radio can be on the net' and conception of 'what to broadcast', different background and experiences - realised now in this new media - made development of net.radio really promising. Although - there still are not that many everyday/24h broadcasting Internet 'radios'. Those also often might have the concept closer to traditional radios, some of them might have on-air radio background (e.g. B92/Belgrade), but mostly those are radios - which simultaneously are re-broadcasting the same on-air radio programmes also on-line. So called web- or net- radios, which are streaming only in to the internet, either have regular broadcasting times (e.g. Interface/London - everyday, OZOne/LV and Pararadio/Budapest - once a week) or they do non-regular live sessions (MZX/Ljubljana) announcing them via mailinglists or other information channels. Very important use of the live streaming on the net is transmission
from the events (festivals, conferences, clubs, sound art projects, etc).
